You make the event what it is! I don't have a final total but I hear that we're up around.and probably over.the 200 mark. Big thanks to Mac Hodges who stayed on Sunday to perform his impressive B-29 routine. It looks as if many of you are warbird lovers, and you appreciated those amazing fighters and bombers. The Sunday half time show was also very impressive and we even had a short and unscheduled low flyby of a L-39.but he only made a single pass. One of the most popular giant-scale RC events in the Northeast is the annual Warbirds Over Delaware, and we posted several photos from past events along with a couple of videos. But, it must have been an impressive sight as I did see the awesome and inspiring sight of 13 WWI warbirds in the air at one time on Friday. One plane went down due to battery issues and another plane didn't quite get airborne.I didn't hear what the issue was. A pilot landing fee of 60.00 (Overnight RV campers will pay a reduced rate) will be charged. All pilots must have a valid AMA membership. Unfortunately, I missed most of the Saturday show because I was out at the main gate with the Park Rangers from 6AM until about 3PM, but, I heard that there were 21 WWI planes that started out in the half time show. Warbirds Over Delaware is an AMA scale event. Monoplanes must have at least an 80-inch wingspan or be 25 scale. Warbirds Over Delaware is put on by the Delaware R/C Club and is an International Miniature Aircraft Association- (IMAA) and AMA-sanctioned event.
